So I'm trying to get everything tied up in Prague so I'll be ready to go back to Texas next weekend. I just finished writing a 20 page research paper, so I'm coasting now. I've been listening to like 18 assloads of music lately though. I will bestow some of it upon you and transfer the rest to your face as links for you to click on.

Digitalism - Apollo Gize (Fred Falke Remix)

Some of you may have noticed that the Hands On Idealism EP by Digitalism came out a few months ago. That was about the time when I started listening to them (per the advice of some Swiss folks who knew that I liked me some Simian Mobile Disco). This EP has some great remixes, and the one that stood out to me was the "Apollo Gize" edit by French Touch legend Fred Falke. As usual, he turns it into a sprawling spaced-out disco house monster. French as hell.

Burial - Archangel (Nomad In The Dark Re-Edit)

Who out there listens to Burial? If you said yes, you have a twisted mind. It took me a full year before I finally decided that dubstep is the shit, and this transition was aided very much by Burial, Kode9 + The Spaceape, Distance, and Skream. Those of you who were super into last year's Untrue already know the song "Archangel" - the demented dubstep/soul track that sounds like it was recorded in a cave. This remix (by the elusive Nomad...or is it Nomad In The Dark?) makes it far more danceable and 5 minutes longer without losing any of the late at night in a dark abandoned city feel of the original.

Ajello - I Wanna Be Italian Too (Luke Solomon's BBAB's Main Space Vocal)

At about 28 o'clock in the morning the other day I came across this Italian tech house group Ajello. They have a really solid 12" out called I Wanna Be Italian To, which doesn't persuade me to want to be Italian as much as it makes me want to be "an expert gardener and prune a yellow rose." Quite right. This song is serious. This is the sort of thing that I'd listen to if I was driving my Lamborghini around Tuscany and drinking bottles of wine for breakfast. Except then I guess I'd already be Italian.

Katy Perry - Hot 'N' Cold (LMFAO Remix)

Before you say anything, shut the hell up. This song is so great it's close to unreal. LMFAO remix the pants of the song in a manner that turns it into the greatest electro song I heard since I last checked the amazing THREE ONE OH! blog. Don't let your pride stop you from downloading that track - believe me when I say it won't disappoint. (By the by, that's a link not to the MP3 but to the post.)

Emiliana Torrini - Jungle Drum (Hannulelauri Remix)

This sounds dumb the first time you listen to it for about 2 minutes. Then you start trying to sing like a robot. Hannulelauri remix this song into a one-of-a-kind banger. Much like the above track, this is from a different blog. Top Billin is run by badass Finns - I swear everybody in that country is cooler than I am. I know this because they stared at me when I walked around Helsinki bundled up like an Eskimo in the middle of the fall. Plus, I saw a shirt with a giant print of Tintin shirts like this being sold in the city center. If I had had 40 Euros to burn, you best believe I would have bought one of those.

Them shits ^ are from a church in Olomouc. I am from a whiskey still in Dallas. ANYWAY I just got back from an incredible trip to Zürich. I'd always though it was cool just because of the lack of garbage and huge numbers of immaculately dressed Swiss people walking in perfectly straight lines, but it turns out they have themselves a pretty fun city there. The nightlife is great, but costs about as much as open heart surgery. Mmmm so what do you want music?

D.H.S. - House Of God (Martin Landsky Remix)

Whoa what whoa. Easy there, song. I've listened to this so many times over the last week that I don't even have to put it on to hear it any more. So here's the scoop - in 1990, the House Of God 12" by DHS was released. In 2008 (holy shit that's the year I'm doing now!) the House Of God (The Poker Flat Mixes) 12" came out. I'd like to make a Long Bet that in 2026 the House Of God (We Are From The Future Of 2026 And Make Remixes Mixes) 12" gets released. So this shit is serious. I'm always looking for new ways to find music, and recently that inspired me to look to the Kompakt site for clues. What I found was quite good. If you go to the MP3 section, they have charts showing what's good over in Köln. I went through all of the songs that were charting about a week ago and realized that it's also a pretty good indicator of exactly what I should be listening to. That's what led me to this little gem of a remixxx. Anybody who spends more than 5 minutes a day with me has heard this already, and they're all chanting "I am excited! For the house of god."

Sam Taylor-Wood & Pet Shop Boys - I'm In Love With A German Film Star (Gui Boratto Mix)

So I'm pretty new to Pet Shop Boys. When I saw the video to "Inner City Pressure" a few weeks ago (from Flight Of The Conchords, another awesome thing that I slept on) I realized that "East End Girls" surely wasn't the Boys only good song. After all, they are the most successful pop duo in British history(!). I came across this one on the Kompakt charts as well. They got together with Sam Taylor-Wood and produced this number here. And since think he shits gold and sunshine, this is the Gui Boratto remix. Since it's the Pet Shop Boys, it's pop. Since it's Gui Boratto, it's atmospheric minimal. Yessss.

This song (and the whole BLVD ST blog) is massive. The beat to this and B.o.B's "Generation Lost" seem to be cut from the same cloth. I guess I need to find one more 'forst I can call it a trend though.

Does It Offend You, Yeah? - Epic Last Song (Lifelike Remix) EDIT: The fun-loving party boys at the RIAA have requested that I delete this. So I did.

Oh yeah, I just remembered that this is the best song ever. I say that a lot, but I guess there are just a lot of best songs ever. And this is one. It's not particularly new (I think I got this remix over the summer or a few months ago or something), but the charts on Last.fm reminded me that I love Does It Offend You, Yeah?. Especially this remix from the unsurprisingly French Lifelike. Go kiss on girls and listen to this and do what you do. My girlfriend actually informed me that this song is about breaking up. If that's your interpretation, then go stop kissing on girls and go break up with them and stuff. But then go dance really hard.

Treasure Fingers - Cross The Dancefloor

I could be Mr. Cool Neat and put up one of the countless remixes of this joint, but I think I'll just stick with what obviously works and give you the original. This song is so good I even listen to the acapella. Every time I hear the words "let me see you move it shake it cross the dancefloor" I immediately sashay over the nearest large flat surface. I got hit by a tram doing this on the street yesterday.

Here's the video for Busta Rhymes's's's's "Arab Money". Nobody has the ability to piss me off (autotune) while picking me up (also autotune) like Ron Browz. You best believe I've been listening to "Pop Champagne" so much that I talk like a robot now. Highlight of the video (in my humble opinion) - Arafat's ghost playing cards with Busta Rhymes.

Zomby - Need Ur Lovin'

Zomby's debut album, Where Were U In '92, recently leaked or was released or something. That whole thing is fuckin crazy. It's a total departure from the dubstep he's been putting out, but he does it well. I don't listen to much rave/oldskool techno mainly because I don't know anything about it. Apparently Zomby does though. This whole album is some sort of crazy, and I'm loving it. Except the mediocre "Pillz" remix he does right after this track. In any case - it's enough to convince me to keep my eye on Zomby.

Oh yeah also here's this. I wish I had a way to download this track.

Fear And Loathing In Hunts Vegas

Jesus christ finally. I've only been waiting for 10 months now. Those of you who have read the StylesForDays inaugural post know that Paper Route Recordz occupies a very special place in my heart that is reserved for...rappers and producers. I haven't even been listening to much hip-hop lately, but I'm listening to the shit out of this. It's hosted by Diplo and Benzi (although nobody seems to know how Benzi was actually involved). A lot of the tracks are remixes of things that have been online for about 2 years now ("Wood Grain", "Rollin'", "Bama Gettin' Money"), but that makes it exactly just as boss as it would be if all the tracks were new. "Bama Gettin' Money" and "Grind Baby" are still linked in my first post (not sure if the links are active though), so I'm going to give you some of the other standouts. It's difficult. The "Rollin'" remix samples Orbital, so that's tempting. The intro may be even cooler though - how often do you hear Underworld samples in rap songs? The answer is not very often.

Blaqstarr - Stuntastic (Featuring Jhi-Ali)

Ah yes that's nice. Next up - "Soul Glo". They've had this up on their MySpace for a few years (but seemingly nowhere else, much to my chagrin) and now it's finally been pressed. Not sure what the sample is (probably a Soul Glow commercial) but my my my does it make people sing along. I'll go way out on a limb here (sarcasm) and assume that it's yet another bonkers Block Beataz beat.

Holy shit that's a scary Chinese/dubstep beat. Man oh man. I think one of my favorite PRGz tricks is the whole randomly screwing & chopping verses or short phrases in the middle of songs. It adds a whole new dimension of scary to the whole business. This track was the standout from the sampler in my humble opinion. If you only want one song for whatever reason THIS SONG IS THE FUCKING SONG. KICK MUCH ASS.

Untamed - Shotz (Featuring Dawgy Baggz)

Hot damn.

The song "Alabama" is also some insanely hot shit. I'll put it up tomorrow I reckon. Otis Redding sample holla.

I mentioned a boss new album from Gouseion a little while ago. He's the man behind the incredible song "Stunt Lounge". I used to be really into IDM, but it got to be too much work for my head. These days I only listen to it if it has this ridiculous crunk sound.

So you know how sometimes you'll be trying to figure out the name of a song or what movie a quote is from and then you finally find out several years later? It feels even better than sneezing. I just realized that a hazy group of bands with a sound that I've been really into actually has a name. Balearic! The stuff I've been listening to is fairly new, so it's not quite as drippy and Ibiza-trashy and even as electronic as the Wikipedia page makes it sound. I've been listening a lot to Studio, Todd Terje, Prins Thomas, Lindstrøm, Air France (Scandinavians seem to have it on lock), Hatchback, Windsurf, Daniel Wang (same with Californians), Beyond The Wizards Sleeve, and Low Motion Disco lately. Lots of spacey guitars and percussion, but extremely danceable and very good for studying. Yes, both of those things at the same time. It's nice to have one word to describe what I've been listening to. A lot of it sounds a to me like The Avalanches vs Girl Talk vs Jens Lekman vs Kraftwerk vs Glass Candy, etc., etc. Here are some of my favorite songs of the last couple days.

Good News

So I finally got sick of trying to find a reliable and simple free file hosting site.

The Good News: I opened an account on CacheFly, which means all the songs will be available for one-click download. Just right click and do save as. All posts from now on will be like this, and I will probably keep the links active for the first 6 or 7 archived posts.

The Bad News: I lost a sock this morning, so now I have an odd number of socks.

Furthermore - a few posts ago, I said that it would take me a couple of weeks to digest all of Minus's Sounds From Can Elles. I have done so, and I now give to you the best song off the compilation. I have no idea what the title is supposed to mean, but whatever it is I'm with it.

I managed to accidentally go on a trip that has currently lasted a week and a half to Bratislava, Ždiar, and Olomouc. That picture above is of the Baltic Sea. I took it at the end of a crazy hike I went on in Estonia a few weeks ago. BUT anyway, I've been listening to so much music it made me poo. Also, I will try hosting files on Upload Jockey due to the unexpectedly large (three) number of complaints I have received about Uploaded.to and Deposit Files. Hopefully this will work, but if it doesn't just tell me.

Danny Darko - Go Solar! (Danny Cannizzaro Main Mix)

Some straight up progressive house from Milan's Danny Darko. Very danceable, very guilty pleasure music, very blah blah blah just listen to it. On your headphones. Unless you're in Italy (Steve-O) and drive a Mini Cooper S and wear sunglasses the size of ski goggles out to clubs. Then you can listen to it on your obnoxious cell phone speaker as you walk around in public. Shut up just download it.

Starfucker - German Love

And now for something completely different: I first heard Starfucker on Copy's mind-blowing podcast mix for XLR8R. The thing jams so hard I thought it was a sandwich. Every artist on his podcast is from Portland, a town I have never visited but have only heard very flattering things about. Starfucker have that light spacey guitar and soothing vocals thing on lock, something I usually don't associate with music that makes my feet move. Zounds!

Bomb The Bass - So Special (Featuring Paul Conboy)

Remember that Bomb The Bass album Future Chaos that showed up a few months ago online with little fanfare? Turns out the fanfare buglers and pronouncement readers should have been notified. This track would be the perfect song to start off the trippiest party evar. I hope I can make this dream a reality someday. What with the crazy fixed piano/whatever the fuck that is intro and all, at high enough volumes this may be enough to make people hear colors and see sounds and shit.

Raoul Sinier - Bleeders Curb

So a few days ago, while checking OinkPlus on the Gouseion page of my torrent tracker of choice, I heard tell of this old boy Raoul Sinier. His sound is fairly similar to the Gouse's (speaking of, he has a new album out called Nijikon), but maybe a bit more chippy and dense. I fell asleep listening to this little gem, and when I woke up I was holding a headless chicken and a pocket knife.

Secret Machines - Now You're Gone

Smoke much? Here's a song that has quickly become my favorite on the phenomenal new Secret Machines album.

Wow. I just got back from a week and a half journey through Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Can't say I remember the whole thing, but the parts that I do were the most fun I've had in a long time. Anybody who thinks that Europeans don't like Americans is very mistaken (provided you're willing to drink nonstop with them for days). Being away from my computer was making me a little bit crazy, but it gave me plenty of time to catch up on all this music I've been downloading for the last few weeks. So let's see what we have here:

First up - A track off the newest Yuksek EP. "Tonight" is the title track, and my oh my does it make me want to dance. The headphones I was using during my trip were shit, so lots of friendly Finnish people got to listen to this with me a few times on a train one day. I just got into Yuksek after hearing his remix of "Strangers" by Van She. The boy has an extremely solid catalog going on, and I think this has to be my favorite of his 12s to date. Pretty standard French electro, but then again when has that ever been a bad thing?

Yuksek - Tonight

Nextual - I recently subscribed to the RSS feed for Hypnotic-Techno. I strongly recommend everybody does this. Every day they post at least 5 new minimal and tech house albums on Rapidshit and Uploaded.to, meaning you get them all for free (to "preview"). Needless to say, it's all pretty boss. Yesterday I got the unmixed version of the M_nus (and DJMag) release Sounds From Can Elles. I'm not sure what the story is behind it, but I know Richie Hawtin himself did the mixed version. This is the sort of thing that it's going to take me a few weeks to digest, but for now there are two tracks that stand out.

Gernot Lange - Resistance (Original Mix)

This one is from the enigmatic Gernot Lange. All I know is that he's German and has some releases on the extremely throw-backily named Snork Enterprises. This track is great - anything this subtle that keeps my attention is worth sharing.

Sebastian Russell - You Freak (Original Mix)

A very fine minimal track from the UK's Sebastian Russell. That is all.

I've been listening to Empire Of The Sun a ton lately. They have a fantastic laid-back retro sound. And Australian accents. While I was waiting for my plane yesterday, I realized I know exactly who they sound like. I forgotted though. This is what I guess is their "big" song right now (there's a video for it on their MySpace). I'd recommend seeking out the entire album. If anybody can tell me how to put it all up in a rar file, I'd be happy to do that. Here's the boss video for this song (shot in Shanghai). That first link right under this is for the MP3.

Empire Of The Sun - Walking On A Dream

So I think that's good for today. One more thing - I've heard some complaints (well, make that one complaint. And it was from my girlfriend) about the file hosting sites I've been using. Apparently depositfiles only lets you do two files in a 20 minute period, so that blows. The second 2 songs I put up today are on Uploaded.to, so let me know how that works out. Any recommendations are welcome.

AHOJ what's the deal? It's been a good week. Prague has lots to offer if drinking lots of beer and passing out on trams is your cup of tea. I also just realized that this city is absolutely flooded with raves and warehouse parties, so things are about to get really weird. I'm planning on going to a gabba party tomorrow night. The only problem is picking which one I want to go to. In other news, lots of good minimal has been coming out lately. Want to hear my new (ok well it's from July but if that was a kid it would be new) favorite song? If anybody ever played this at a party I'd go hump the shit out of them.

Minilogue has also been up to good things lately. This is from the "Doiicie" 10" that they released back in May. It sounds like it's some sort of therapy tape or something, but it somehow remains danceable. I'd recommend getting the sublime Animals double album they put out recently if you enjoy this.

I'm happy to post anything from Texas at any time, and when a song has not just Trae but Bun B AND Lil' Keke I feel like I'd be a terrible person for not trying to share the wealth. One of my favorite things about Houston hip hop has always been the fact that those boys just love to sample each other's music. Who doesn't want to hear Keke sampled in a song that he's featured on? Boss.

Speaking of Trae Tha Truth, his new album is either out or it just done leaked. I'm definitely with the whole thing, particularly this song that has Z-Ro and Slim Thugg-a. Three of the best voices in southern hip hop. Plus, this beat sounds like it's by Caribou.

Since I can't seem to stop talking about how great everything from Texas is - a few months ago I started listening to a boss minimal producer from Dallas called Maetrik. The Space Chronic EP is fire fire. It opens with "Sex With Bass," which features one of the best lyrics ever spoken by a robot and about ten Newtons of dancing force.

EDIT: Oy I'm back. So I just realized that Boss Hogg Outlawz's's's Back By Blockular Demand came out a few minutes ago. I'm mad at me for not being more on top of this. When I first heard "No Ceiling" I shat my pants. This track has a hidden (if you want to call it that) song that takes up the second half of the 8 minutes. The first half is some sensitive thug music (asking for the Lord to be nice, etc.) then it turns into some serious bossin' Slim Thug verses. The non-stop high hat or whatever the shit makes that noise is vital. I realized the other day that pretty much without fail I love rap songs that have that simple little feature.

So I just downloaded Margins Music by Dusk + Blackdown. It's pretty wild. I guess it's dubstep, but there are so many influences it's really hard to give it a genre. Lots of Middle Eastern singing but lots of wonk bubbles and clicks to boot. Here are two cuts with a pretty similar vibe. I just realized that both of them also feature Farrah, who I have unfortunately not been able to find online. She has an awesome voice though.

Oh man am I pumped. Another Slow Motion Soundz song has been making its rounds online, and it sounds like a new album is on the way. It's called Starshipz And Rocketz, and what I read is that it'll be out by the month end. We'll see. I'm still looking for Fear And Loathing In Hunts Vegas. This new track is called "Speed Of Sound," and I'm not sure what the sample is this time. My guess is Imogen Heap/Frou Frou, but I can't swear to it. If anybody knows for sure I'd appreciate a comment. But anyway, the song is fire (surprise surprise). More blunted spacey deep south hip hop.

Wild Institubes Frenchman Surkin just released "Next Of Kin, Mark II." Tracks from the first one have been remixed by the likes of Blaqstarr, Bobmo, Laidback Luke, and CHROMEO. Chromeo turns "White Knight" into "Chrome Knight," which in turn does everything that a Chromeo song does. Needless to say, this is essential listening.

Up next, some nice wistful rap by B.O.B found over on The Fader. The "can you feel" part sounds like it's from an 80s song, and then he starts talking about aliens and growing up and all that. So I've been sitting around for a few hours now watching Tecktonik videos, and I tried my darnedest to find MP3s of every song I heard. Of these, two really stood out. And made me realize I've been going to the wrong kinds of parties.

First up - John Dahlbäck - Blink (Original Mix). Wa wa we wa that's a dope song. The video is sick too and has some good dancing to go with it. Oh to be Swedish and making badass house music again - how fondly I remember my days in Scandinavia. But I digress. And lie. This song will turn you into a dancing machine in 0 flat.

This one is even better. Never in a million years would I have guessed that I would download (much less enjoy) music from somebody that goes by DJ Antoine (sounds WAY too house-y), but that shows what I know. This is the catchiest song I've heard in a minute now, and I know for a fact I'll have it heavy rotation for a long time. The original version is decent, but this remix by Klaas makes a tank out of it. I can't get over this song.

It's an hour and five minutes long, and the only thing I know about it is that it's called "Tecktonik Vol. 5." No DJ name, no label, and I doubt that's the real title. As much as I hate single-track mixes, I managed to listen to this whole thing straight through. Since I struggle to do anything for more than 3 minutes at a time, I suppose that means I thoroughly enjoy it. Oh wait, I DO thoroughly enjoy it.

Holy shit. Holy shitting shit. When Secret Machines lost Benjamin Curtis a few years ago, I was distraught. I thought my favorite band was preparing to disappear forever. They replaced him though, and the new album (Secret Machines) is a phenomenal return to form. I can't remember the last time I was so blown away. Which brings me to my next point ----->

WHY IS THIS NOT ON THE ALBUM? I guess when you have as many mind-blowing space rock face-melting acid tracks as these guys do, it doesn't matter if you make something this great into a B-side. Any song that can make me sit still with my jaw dropped for 8 minutes is a rare treat. Secret Machines specialize in doing just that. Great title too.

Rex The Dog - Bubblicious
Got the new Rex The Dog compilation yesterday. It's sad - he's one of those guys that I love listening to whenever I remember it, but I usually forget about him. Probably because this is the first thing I've gotten from him that isn't a 12, which I tend to bury in all the other music. But no matter. "Bubblicious" feels good, and so does the rest. It's called "The Rex The Dog Show," and it's some quite nice electro for your dome.

SCSI-9 - Boys Away
New SCSI-9 leaked the other day. Since I've been on a minimal bender the last few months (I swear that's all they play in Europe, which is totally cool), this is a very good thing. I've got much love for music that sounds equally as good when I'm trying to sleep as it does when blasting out of a PA in a warehouse. This is a nice eerie little joint, with all the pops clicks beeps and hums that this sort of thing entails. It's pretty bouncy to boot.

Oh what the hell. Here's another song. Do you like French house? Do you like Thomas Bangalter and DJ Falcon? How about the two of them together as Together? This isn't a new track (2003), but considering how huge all things French and musical have become in the last few years it still sounds pretty fr fr fresh. There's something special about French Touch - it can be repetitive as hell and not really develop until several minutes into a track, but for some reason it just makes me progressively happier and happier until my face hurts from smiling for 11 minutes. Plus it is AWESOME to dance to.

Jesus. Ten years later, I have a functional computer and internet access. To sum up the last however long it's been, I went to La Route Du Rock in St. Malo, France (front row at Sigur Rós & Midnight Juggernauts, among others); soaked up culture and an unhealthy amount of beer in Bruges; did whatever whatever in Amsterdam; experienced the "club until it's lunchtime then have a döner kebab and pass out" mentality that pervades Berlin; and arrived safely in Prague with a sore liver. I'm in Prague now til late December, which is either good or bad depending on your age and level of fun-lovingness. The city is what would happen if Amsterdam, Berlin and someplace in Russia had a badass kid.

I've been away from my computer for long time, so I'm trying hard to catch up on what I've missed in that time. To tide myself over while I didn't have a computer, I've been listening to Sample And Hold, Flux: The Remixes, Apocalypso, Diary Of An Afro Warrior, and a smattering of DJ Fresh EPs. As a consequence, I'm posting some songs that are a wee bit old. I've been going nuts on torrents since I woke up today though, so I'll be able to contribute some new stuff as well.

FIRST UP: Simian Mobile Disco - Hustler (Joakim Remix)

So gully. The breakdown about 4 minutes in makes the song. I'm the only person dancing on my trams to class, and this why.

NEXT: Bloc Party - I Still Remember (SebastiAn Remix) What? I don't know what adjectives to use. The beat goes from upbeat to melancholy but stays danceable throughout. SebastiAn has the magic touch. This may be the only song I've listened to more than "Hustler."

NEXTY-NEXT: AutoKratz - Stay The Same (Edit)I'm a sucker for any song with chopped lyrics, be it electronic or Texan. It's the former in this case. This is from the new Kitsuné Compilation (Kitsuné Maison 6). As they make more of these they get better and better.

SUPER NEXT: Ayres & Tittworth's T&A Records just released a new EP called "Ghetto Pass." The whole thing's tight like a tiger, but Technics' remixes of Radiohead's "Everything In It's Right Place" are bonkers. Who loves Radiohead? Everybody does. People like Bodymore club too. Whoops I Went To Europe

So I went to Europe and broke my laptop. It's back in the states getting fixed, but I should have it back in a couple weeks. For those who are curious, so far I have spent 3 weeks in Paris, 1 week in St-Malo, a day in Bruges, 5 days in Amsterdam, and am now in Berlin for 2 days. From here I go to Munich, Vienna, and Prague. Once my classes start (in about a week) I'll probably start posting again to avoid doing homework. For now, roaming around Europe and getting drunk with weirdos is all the distraction I need.

HAPPY JULY 12TH!!!! This is definitely my favorite holiday all year.* To celebrate, I have a few songz that I done heard on. T.I. has a mixtape or something out in Japan called The Throne Is Mine that opens up with this song right here. T.I. raps over the Britney song of the same name. The only thing that would make it better would have been removing her vocals entirely, but it's still tite like tiger.

Since I'm really into T.I. today, I also have a few songs off King. screwed & chopped. I'm not sure who worked them, but it's definitely well done. "What You Know" is already probably boss track of the millennium, but when it's slow and choppy like this it sounds downright scary. If I heard somebody listening to this in their car I'd hide so I wouldn't get crushed by their nuts. It'd be easy to get away since your car won't go over 15 mph when you listen to it.

T.I. - What You Know (Screwed & Chopped)

Up next, a new cut from Felix Da Housecat & Kris Menace. I love that even while house music keeps fading between popular and irrelevant, anything that Kris Menace, Fred Falke, or Alan Braxe touch turns to Gold and a half. This one is top-notch (surprise) and oh yeah also it has Felix Da Motherfucking Housecat(!) on it. It's called "Artificial," and from what I can tell it hasn't seen an official release yet. Fortunately, internet people get these things early. Everyone is saying this is/will be huge in Ibiza, so maybe I should go there. BASICALLY what we have here is a really heavy house song that sounds nice and French-like. PS - I know this song is already all over everywhere, but don't think that makes me a Johnny-come-lately. I'm just too lazy to post things the minute they leak.

Next up - I know this shit isn't new, but you're crazy if you don't want a high-bitrate meticulously tagged classic Chemical Brothers song. It even has the album art for the single! "How Does It Feel Like" is one of the most immediately catchy techno jamz around. When I think of the Super Chemical Bros., I think of this and "Private Psychedelic Reel." The fact that I mention them in the same sentence should be a strong endorsement if you haven't heard this song yet.

Songs like this make me want to spend some time at Bristol clubs (not sure if that's where Wonder's from, but I know they're so deep in dubstep there that the whole city has turned into mean ghosts). Damn this song is nasty.

Whoa so I fell off the side of the earth there for about 4 weeks. I started work and got lazy and the wireless has been all wonky at my house. I'd like to say this is the beginning of my return to regular posts, but I can't promise that. I can promise that I will post this post though.

Before I get into the music, let me talk about what I have been doing. I went and saw The Fall, which was so good that I had a sex wee in my pants. Although I wasn't puttering around Manhattan in the 80's, this is what I would have been listening to on my cassette Walkman if I was.

Hey fellas that there is for sure a picture of a volcano going off during a lightning storm. I took it no I did not. National Geographic. ANYWAY sorry for my extended absence. I took a break because my computer broke and I was on sabbatical after writing a revisionist version of Encyclopedia Britannica. Whoa I just can't stop lying. Ok so tonight (this morning) I'm putting up some Pendulum for you first. If you're too lazy to click on their Myspace link, they do rock/DnB. Since I had never even listened to Drum & Bass until a few months ago, it's been taking me a lot of effort to get into it. Pendulum is one of the few artists that has instant appeal. This song is "Showdown," and by golly is it cwazy. The new album is In Silico. I was drawn to the album art and was pleasantly surprised. This would be one hell of a concert.

Well hey. Sorry I disappeared for a few days there. I just moved back to Big D for the summer and I've been super busy and all. To make up for it, I'm putting up 5 jamz today. First up, two bangers from the new Shawty Lo. He's one of the guys from D4L, so don't be expecting any thought-provoking lyrics. The beats are straight fire though. Also worth noting - according to Wikipedia, Shawty Lo does not have HIV. First up is "Foolish", which surprisingly has not made it to US rap charts yet. A lot of the beats on Units In The City seem super dark, and this is no exception. As I told you, don't be expecting to be inspired by these lyrics. That being said, I can't stop listening to this song.

"Live My Life" is just as dark. The piano part starts of sounding real out of place, but after about 5 seconds it makes me wonder why all rap songs don't use them. I've been switching back between this and "Foolish" for the last few days, and it's making things weird. Weird like awesome.

The DVNO 12" came out a minute ago on Ed Banger. At times it gets annoying hearing everybody you've ever met talking about Justice, but then you realize hype doesn't just come out of thin air. The 12" has a few remixes of the title track, including one by Justice themselves. This one is the Les Petits Pilous super crunchy remix. The synth part is the same note over and over again, and it works. It's enough to make a song I've heard 17 million times sound fresh.

The new Rustie 12", Cafe De Phresh, also just came out. Those who remember Jagz The Smack know what to expect. It's not dubstep, but it goes great with it. He's from Glasgow and does cwazy leftfield hip-hop. Plus he has an entire song about shoes ("Just 4 Kicks"). This one's "Patrick Ewing", and it has all the dubstep, crunk and grime noises you know and love.

Now for some real heady dubstep. "Qawwali" is a couple years old, but it would be crazy to pass this up. Pinch is one of the flagbearers of the Bristol bass scene, and he's been putting out blazing 12s for quite a while. "Qawwali" has strings, crazy percussion, and noises I can't describe with my keyboard. I have got to get my ass to a dubstep club. Any place where people dance to this music is a place I want to be.

The new Cut Copy album came out about a month ago and has been getting a lot of press online. I haven't talked to anybody in real life who has been listening to it though, so here's one of my favorite songs from In Ghost Colours.

He's a pretty tight hip hop producer from Glasgow, and at least in my mind he fits in with the English dubstep scene. Apparently this song is a rework of "Oops (Oh My)" by Tweet, which I've never heard. I have a feeling this is better though.

Hot new Wiley song "Wearing My Rolex." This right here is the extended mix, so it goes on. It's one of those songs that gets stuck in your head as you hear it. I found myself singing along about 2 minutes into my first listen. Wiley's a boss and it's a boss jam. His name's Wiley he's the Eskimo Boy yeah. Ever since the first Run The Road came out, vocal grime has been taking a serious backseat to heavy dubstep. I'm totally down with that, but I still miss the days of Dizzee's "Boy In Da Corner" and Wiley's "Treddin' On Thin Ice". Those were the days back in those days. Wa.

The Paris music scene is crazygonuts, and the Ed Banger crew is on top of it all right now. This is probably all stuff you know already. I picked this DSL song because I had never heard of them before Ed Rec 3, and they sound dopeapotamus. More hip-hop than most of the acts, but just as electro as well. This song also has quite a bit more to it than most of the stuff they put out.

So I realize I promised another post last night, but instead I passed out with my head hanging off the bed. That was a lot of fun don't ever do it. In continuing my streak of posting music that is not as new as it should be, I have for you tonight a few things off my hard drive (if it's on my hard drive and not my computer, that means I've had it for a while). Eliot Lipp is newer, so he can go first. He does some pretty sweet hip-hop/electronic, so it didn't take me long to get into his music. Even better, he was recently on tour with Bassnectar, who I just now decided will also be a part of this post.

Bassnectar is nuts. My body has never hurt for so long after a concert than when I saw this guy. It lends itself to convulsive dancing and headbanging. I think I've played "Replenish" on my radio show more than any other song (two or three times).

Disclaimer: that is certainly not a picture of John Dahlbäck. Fortunately, StumbleUpon is much better at finding good photos than I am. And besides, there's nothing like a Freddy Mercury photo to put you in the mood for ze Svedish dåncingmusicløppen. The new John Dahlbäck album came out a few weeks ago, and I just now got it. The whole album is up on Bluepinkmagenta , so I'm taking the liberty of listening to it once and posting a few songs that made a good first impression. First off, there's "Sidewalk." It has a beat like all of that 8-bit music that's been getting so big lately, but there's more to it. It also has vocals. That makes it about 7 million times more entertaining.

Next up - "Honeywell." It's the song right after Sidewalk, and it's quite a change of pace. I'd say it's a little bit like the Field, except much more of a dance song. Incidentally, the next track I picked is the next song on the CD. "I Had A Feeling" has a beat and vocals that sound like your typical European house songs, but he threw in enough space noises and beeps and whatever whatever to make it quite a bit more. Out of these three songs, this once is probably the most danceable. I tested all three with my dance machines. It also has a pretty trippy outro that sounds great with the iTunes visualizer.

No, this isn't one song with both of them. Sorry. I have one song from the new Sunny Day Sets Fire album "Summer Palace," and I also have a Fam-Lay song from 2003's "The Neptunes Present...Clones." The Fam-Lay song bumps and has samples that sound like they're from Looney Tunes (specifically, there's one that sounds like a cartoon character shaking their head. It's not hard to find). There's actually a remix with Lil' Flip that's even better, but the only place I can find it is iTunes. As if that wasn't bad enough, it cuts off way too early. If you'd like to hear more from Fam-Lay, Star Trak is allegedly going to release his debut LP sometime before the apocalypse. The Sunny Day Sets Fire one does whatever awesome indie songs do. The guy (I understand his name is either Mauro or Onyee and he is either from Italy or Hong Kong) has a great voice. I first heard their new song "Teenagers Talking" on XM about a month ago and it only just showed up online. Turns out "Mandarins" is an even better song, so YOU'RE WELCOME.

So I was looking at the Top 10 on What earlier and found this new RZA as Bobby Digital song. As soon as I hit play I realized it was basically the same beat and similar lyrics to the MF Doom as King Geedorah song "Anti-Matter" (2003). Which one is better? You tell me. Comments please

So I decided it would be a good idea to post a few songs that I found streaming on the Fader. I've done some looking and can't find them to download anywhere, so these are wonderful gifts. First of all, we have a song that has "Bittersweet Symphony" paired with some verses by Decatur rapper Born Wit It and Atlanta rapper B.O.B. It's a wonder somebody didn't do this already.

Inaugural Post - Who Likes Paper Route Gangstaz?

I first heard about Paper Route Gangstaz (or Recordz, depending on who you ask) last summer when I heard Wood Grain on the Fader website. My ringtone and number one jam haven't changed since that fateful day. They're about to come out with a mixtape hosted by fucking Diplo and fucking Benzi. Jesus. I'll give them all of my money as soon as they let me. It's called "Fear And Loathing In Hunts Vegas" and the sampler is available on the Urb website, among other places. If memory serves, this is the url. The full mixtape drops on Mad Decent sometime in the near future, so you can bet I'll be checking online every day.

Oh so you want to know their sound? It's absolutely filthy southern rap (they're from Huntsville) with a heavy emphasis on samples that are also from filthy southern rap. "Wood Grain" samples a choice Mike Jones line from "Still Tippin'", "Rollin'" samples "Pillz" by Gucci Mane, and this one samples "Say It Ain't So" by Weezer? Yes it does. I couldn't find this up for download anywhere (just streaming) so I used Audio Hijack and it has a few seconds of silence at the beginning and end. By the way, if you want to turn streaming music into MP3 that's definitely the way to do it.
